Position Overview
Whitehall Resources is hiring a Data Centre Analyst with active SC Clearance for a 12-month contract based fully onsite in Berkshire. The role is inside IR35 and requires travel between five UK data center sites at short notice.
Role Purpose
The Data Centre Technical Analyst is responsible for maintaining the operational availability and reliability of the UK’s data centre estate. The position involves technical support, capacity management, audit compliance, and incident response. Collaboration with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders is essential to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and reliable operation of the UK data centre estate
- Conduct IT asset audits to maintain compliance and data accuracy
- Monitor capacity using Nlyte or equivalent DCIM tools
- Manage changes and risks through the Change Control Process
- Raise incident and change tickets when required
- Provide incident management support within agreed SLAs
- Represent the data centre estate in CABs, workshops, and technical events
- Validate technical designs for safe housing and supportability
- Deliver inductions and maintain access control records
- Prepare for and complete required audits
Essential Skills and Experience
- Active SC Clearance
- Own vehicle with ability to travel to five UK sites at short notice
- Minimum 12 months’ experience in a data centre environment
- Background in installing and de-installing IT equipment
- Knowledge of ITIL framework
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems such as generators, UPS, and cooling
Desirable Qualifications
- Certification as a Data Centre Technician or Management Professional
- Experience with DCIM tools such as Nlyte
- ITIL Foundation qualification
- Networking skills
