Job Overview—Staff Accountant (Billing & Receivables Focus)
Brailsford & Dunlavey is hiring a staff accountant with a strong focus on billing, accounts receivable, and collections. This role is ideal for an early-to-mid-career accounting professional who enjoys ownership, accuracy, and process improvement while gaining exposure across broader corporate finance functions.
This position reports directly to the finance manager and plays a key role in maintaining healthy cash flow and accurate financial reporting for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Billing & Accounts Receivable
Prepare, review, and issue client invoices accurately and on schedule
Track outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue balances
Communicate professionally with clients to resolve billing inquiries
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal policies
Accounting & Financial Operations
Reconcile payments and maintain clean, organized financial records
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Assist with general ledger activities and special finance projects
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies
Process Improvement & Controls
Identify opportunities to improve billing workflows and automation
Strengthen internal controls and reporting accuracy
Support finance system improvements and efficiency initiatives
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in accounts receivable, billing, or collections
5+ years of relevant experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Strong understanding of receivables, reconciliations, and accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Experience with accounting systems such as Workday, Great Plains, QuickBooks, or Deltek (preferred)
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
Full authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
