Role Overview – Treasury Senior Expert
As a Treasury Senior Expert, you will be responsible for strengthening the company’s financial position through advanced cash flow planning, liquidity management, and treasury risk mitigation strategies. This role combines technical treasury expertise, people leadership, and strategic financial planning.
You will work closely with senior management, banks, and external partners to ensure effective treasury operations aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements in Qatar and the GCC.
Key Responsibilities
Treasury & Cash Management
Develop advanced financial models and cash flow forecasts for short-term and long-term planning.
Manage daily and monthly cash position monitoring to ensure sufficient liquidity.
Optimize fund utilization to reduce external borrowing and improve working capital efficiency.
Implement automated collection systems to enhance transaction accuracy and speed.
Risk Management & Compliance
Design and update treasury risk management frameworks covering currency, interest rate, and credit risks.
Monitor exposure to market volatility and adjust financial strategies accordingly.
Ensure full compliance with banking agreements, loan covenants, and regulatory requirements.
Banking & Investment Strategy
Maintain strong relationships with local and international banks.
Manage investment strategies to maximize returns on deposits while safeguarding company assets.
Oversee interest rate and foreign exchange risk management activities.
Strategic & Leadership Contribution
Align treasury operations with divisional and corporate strategies.
Lead, mentor, and develop treasury team members to achieve high performance.
Support talent development initiatives and succession planning.
Budgeting, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Prepare and manage sectional budgets and track performance against approved targets.
Ensure accurate, timely reporting in line with corporate and regulatory standards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on global treasury best practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business (mandatory)
MBA or postgraduate qualification (preferred)
Professional Experience
Minimum 10 years of treasury or corporate finance experience
At least 4 years in a managerial or senior leadership role
Experience in energy, power, utilities, or water sector is highly valued
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proven people management and leadership skills
Expertise in cash flow management, working capital, and corporate finance
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage)
