Role Overview
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS. You’ll support group accounting, coach internal teams, and act as a key contact for auditors and senior management.
This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working across departments, leading financial projects, and ensuring compliance with international accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare standalone financial statements under HGB and IFRS
- Support group accounting and contribute to consolidated reporting
- Coach internal teams on accounting policies and compliance topics
- Manage documentation for audits and tax inspections
- Implement tax compliance requirements pragmatically
- Lead or support global finance projects (e.g., IFRS rollout, group expansion)
- Act as a subject matter expert on accounting issues across the organization
- Serve as a key contact for external auditors and executive leadership
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should bring:
- A degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial or group accounting
- Strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS standards
- Experience with SAP R/3 or SAP S/4HANA (preferred)
- Analytical mindset and structured working style
- Ability to improve processes and drive change
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)
- CPA or equivalent certification (a plus but not required)
