Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Accountant at Sezzle, you’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the finance team in day-to-day operations. Your tasks will include:
Preparing and booking monthly financial close activities in compliance with US GAAP
Recording daily entries including cash movement, shopper receivables, merchant payables, and corporate expenses
Ensuring proper documentation and controls over key business processes
Compiling financial data for external audits
📈 Assisting with ad hoc reporting and finance projects as needed
Qualifications & Skills
To thrive in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
1–3 years of experience in corporate accounting (public company preferred)
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
