A well-established organization in Abu Dhabi is currently hiring a highly skilled Accountant / Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. Key Responsibilities
The selected Accountant / Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing daily financial operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Key responsibilities include:
Handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
Managing vendor invoices, payments, and customer collections
Performing bank, supplier, and intercompany reconciliations
Preparing and reviewing month-end and year-end closing entries
Maintaining accurate general ledger records
Ensuring compliance with UAE VAT regulations, including VAT returns and documentation
Assisting in preparation of financial statements, reports, and audits
Monitoring cash flow, expenses, and revenue streams
Supporting internal and external audit processes
Coordinating with operations and management teams for financial planning
Ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards
This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a proactive approach to financial problem-solving.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:
5 to 8 years of proven experience in accounting or finance roles
Strong practical knowledge of AP, AR, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Hands-on experience with VAT accounting and filings in the UAE
Prior experience in the F&B sector is highly preferred
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
Ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities
Strong communication and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Senior-level candidates should also demonstrate leadership abilities and experience reviewing junior accountants’ work.
