Position Overview
The Financial Data Mapping Specialist plays the first and most critical role in the customer data lifecycle. Each dataset you process directly impacts how customers track performance, manage risk, and report on their financial portfolios. You will work with unstructured financial documents—such as spreadsheets, PDFs, models, and lender statements—and transform them into structured, system-ready datasets.
This is a remote job aligned with PST hours. The workload increases during month-end, quarter-end, and new client onboarding. You will collaborate closely with Customer Success, Product, Sales, and Enablement teams to keep improving the ingestion process.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Data Mapping & Ingestion

Use Excel importer tools and the internal software to map financial data accurately.

Work with customer-submitted documents: financial statements, models, production reports, and lender files.

Assign each data point to the correct metric within a system containing 500+ financial fields.

Create custom metrics when needed to maintain accuracy and completeness.
2. Data Reconciliation & Validation

Perform line-by-line reviews to ensure the ingested data matches original source inputs.

Identify inconsistencies, missing values, or mismatched categories and flag them clearly.

Maintain exceptional accuracy, ensuring all financial metrics are clean and error-free.
3. Structured Data Categorization

Use your financial literacy to categorize data correctly.

Understand terms like

Operating Expenses

Cash Flows

Leverage Ratio

Organize financial components within the correct system categories (ex: O&M → Operating Expenses).
4. Process Improvement Collaboration

Share insights with Product and Customer Success teams.

Suggest improvements for templates, importer tools, documents, and workflows.

Help the company streamline ingestion efficiency for future customers.
5. Documentation & Knowledge Building

Document mapping steps, data definitions, and best practices.

Contribute to a long-term knowledge base for training future team members and clients.
6. Data Organization & File Management

Maintain a queue of customer files and prioritize processing deadlines.

Follow strict internal data security protocols to protect sensitive financial documents.
Required Skills & Qualifications

2–4 years of professional experience handling financial data.

Strong knowledge of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and finance concepts.

Familiar with loan structures, project finance, SPVs, IRR calculations, leverage ratios, and similar metrics.

High attention to detail and a strong focus on data quality.

Ability to communicate clearly with customer success teams, document findings, and manage workload independently.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or any quantitative discipline (preferred).
