Job Overview
Egis is currently hiring a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial operations for Roads Operations and Maintenance (O&M) projects in Doha, Qatar. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in infrastructure accounting and a passion for precision and analysis.
As part of the finance team, you’ll play a key role in tracking project costs, preparing financial reports, and supporting strategic decisions that impact road infrastructure development and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all accounting operations for road O&M projects, including payables, receivables, and general ledger updates
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and reports tailored to road infrastructure activities
- Develop project-specific accounting systems to monitor costs and revenue streams
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting
- Conduct financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and boost operational efficiency
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts for road maintenance projects
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS)
- Support internal and external audits with relevant documentation and insights
- Implement internal controls to protect financial data and ensure accuracy
- Present financial performance reports to management, highlighting trends and KPIs
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in infrastructure or construction sectors
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, and advanced Excel skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP and project-based accounting principles
- Familiarity with road infrastructure and O&M financial practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Clear and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
