Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete lifecycle of PostgreSQL databases, including deployment, monitoring, and maintenance

- Support migration projects from PostgreSQL to EnterpriseDB (EDB)
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing improvements
- Configure and manage connection pooling using PgBouncer
- Ensure database security through proper access control and configurations
- Execute database upgrades with minimal downtime
- Manage backup and disaster recovery strategies using tools such as pgBackRest and Barman
- Monitor and troubleshoot replication systems, including failover handling
- Provide support during critical production incidents as part of an on-call rotation

- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL internals (WAL, MVCC, vacuum processes)
- Experience with high availability and failover tools like Patroni or repmgr
- Solid SQL performance tuning and query analysis skills
- Knowledge of Linux system administration and server management
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS
- Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Git
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana
- Good communication skills to work with cross-functional teams
