Job Description – Senior Director, Credit Risk & Analytics
Deel is hiring an experienced and visionary Senior Director, Credit Risk & Analytics to lead and scale its global risk function. This leadership role is ideal for professionals who thrive at the intersection of credit risk, advanced analytics, AI/ML modeling, and strategic decision-making.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end credit risk strategy—designing intelligent underwriting systems, real-time portfolio monitoring frameworks, and data-driven collections strategies. Your work will directly support sustainable growth while expanding access to credit for underserved and emerging markets.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure risk frameworks are embedded seamlessly into Deel’s technology and business processes.
Key Responsibilities
Build and scale a world-class credit risk analytics function that delivers actionable insights for portfolio optimization and loss forecasting
Lead the development and deployment of AI and machine-learning underwriting models
Integrate alternative and non-traditional data sources to improve predictive accuracy and credit inclusion
Design real-time monitoring dashboards and automated alerts for portfolio health, exposure limits, and key risk indicators
Identify and assess risk for new products, markets, and customer segments before launch
Implement A/B testing frameworks for underwriting rules, pricing strategies, and customer selection
Establish robust credit governance structures, including credit committees and escalation protocols
Ensure all analytics pipelines and models are auditable, scalable, and compliant with global best practices
Partner with cross-functional teams to align risk strategy with business growth objectives
Apply predictive analytics to enhance collections efficiency and customer outcomes
Promote risk awareness through training, documentation, and stakeholder education
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of experience in credit risk management
Proven leadership experience in consumer and SME lending
Strong hands-on background in AI/ML-based underwriting or credit scoring models
Experience using alternative data such as behavioral and transactional data
Demonstrated success managing risk for new markets and innovative financial products
Excellent leadership and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex analytics to non-technical teams
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Risk Management, or related field
Master’s degree preferred
Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or PRM are a strong advantage
