Primary Purpose of the Job
As a Senior Accountant – Back Office, you will be primarily responsible for managing Treasury Back Office Operations, ensuring accurate treasury accounting, secure financial settlements, and compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
This role plays a critical part in overseeing treasury financing deals, managing payment settlements, and acting as the main point of contact for auditors and regulatory authorities. The position supports Group 1 companies under QatarEnergy and requires strong leadership and financial governance expertise.
Key Responsibilities of Senior Accountant Back Office
Treasury & Financial Operations
- Manage end-to-end treasury back office operations
- Handle treasury accounting and reporting
- Ensure accurate payment processing and settlements
- Monitor treasury financing transactions and deals
- Maintain compliance with internal financial controls
Audit & Compliance
- Act as the primary focal point for:
- Internal Audit
- External Audit
- State Bureau Audit
- Ensure compliance with Qatar financial regulations
- Prepare audit documentation and respond to audit queries
- Support regulatory and statutory reporting requirements
Systems & Reporting
- Work with advanced ERP systems and treasury tools
- Prepare high-quality financial and management reports
- Ensure data accuracy across treasury and accounting systems
Required Experience and Skills
Professional Experience
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in:
- Medium to large organizations
- Accounting, finance, or treasury roles
- Previous experience in the oil and gas industry is a strong advantage
- Proven experience handling corporate treasury functions
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of computerized accounting systems
- Hands-on experience with:
- SAP TRM or similar ERP systems
- MS Power BI
- MS Excel, Word, and Office tools
- Understanding of financial controls, treasury risk, and compliance
Leadership Skills
- Excellent people management capabilities
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Ability to guide teams and manage multiple stakeholders
- High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Finance
- Commerce
- Business Administration
- Accounting
OR
- Globally recognized professional certifications such as:
- Chartered Accountant (CA)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Cost & Management Accountant (CMA)
- Equivalent international finance qualification.
