Senior Field Engineer Job Description – UK (Remote)
Teleport is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled senior field engineer to join its customer solutions team in the United Kingdom. This is a remote, full-time opportunity designed for professionals who enjoy working directly with enterprise customers, solving complex technical challenges, and driving product adoption at scale.
As a senior field engineer, you will play a critical role throughout the entire customer journey—from initial solution design to enterprise-wide rollout. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring customers receive maximum value from Teleport’s secure access platform while maintaining strong long-term relationships.
This role is ideal for engineers who are customer-focused, security-driven, and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting Teleport solutions within customer environments. You will work hands-on with customers to configure systems, resolve technical challenges, and guide organizations through best practices.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
Designing secure and scalable Teleport architectures tailored to customer needs
Deploying, configuring, and optimizing Teleport in cloud and hybrid environments
Acting as the primary technical contact for customers, handling triage and troubleshooting
Escalating complex issues to engineering teams when required
Delivering customized training sessions and technical workshops
Supporting enterprise-level rollouts and adoption strategies
Leading Quarterly Business Review meetings to track success and growth
Documenting customer goals, challenges, and feedback
Collaborating with Sales and Product teams on upsell and improvement opportunities
Serving as a subject matter expert on current and upcoming Teleport solutions
Required Skills & Qualifications
Teleport is looking for candidates with a strong technical foundation and proven experience in customer-facing engineering roles.
Essential qualifications include:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 8 years of experience in solution architecture, professional services, or system administration
Strong Linux administration skills
Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Solid knowledge of Kubernetes environments
Understanding of modern security concepts such as SSH, PKI, SSO, RBAC, and 2FA
Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Experience managing multiple customer projects simultaneously
Certifications such as AWS, Azure, CKA, or CKAD are considered a strong advantage.
